The Document Security Laboratory of State Printing House Plc. has for years been developing and producing inks that use special security marking materials but are compatible with commercially available office printers (inkjet, laser). A major advantage of printers using such inks is that the authenticity of the printed texts can be verified and any other later alterations made to the documents can be clearly discovered . The use of this product family is recommended primarily for the printing of contracts, vouchers, statements, as well as documents that need to be filled in on -site, since the use of such inks simplifies the quick and clear expert verification of the authenticity of such official documents.
Our latest development:
Nano security inks for ink-jets
Due to their extraordinary intensity and great light resistance, the special fluorescent inks developed by the Document Security Laboratory of our Corporation has raised the security of documents to a new level. We use state-of-the-art technological devices and procedures for the production of inks, which allow us to produce pigments belonging to the nanometric range, to develop ink systems and to use them in ink-jet printers.
For further information see the video:
Besides the water-based, colorless and colorful, customized security ink-jet inks, a new type of infra-absorbent ink-jet ink product family – which can be applied as document and product protection solution – was developed in our laboratory. Unlike conventional inks, the new inks have absorbing characteristics in the near infrared range.
The commercially available colored ink-jet inks and the black ’photo inks’ do not absorb in the near infrared range, so an ink with different characteristics may offer adequate protection against counterfeiting.
Possible areas of use
The inks in themselves are suitable for adequate level protection of documents to be printed with water-based inks, for example for printing of the data page of passports and the machine readable zones (MRZ) of other documents. Counterfeits made with color printers or copy machines can be filtered out during data processing made by IR readers; there is no need for separate verification of origin.
